The team
Built by signal processing engineers for clinical deployment.
Synaptiq was founded in 2024. We build the signal science layer that device manufacturers don't want to build themselves — and that clinicians need to work reliably on a Wednesday afternoon when the electrodes have shifted.
Dr. Rohan Mehta
Founder & CEO
The problem that became Synaptiq is one Rohan encountered directly: a classifier trained in session 1 that worked cleanly, and then degraded by session 3. Not because the algorithm was wrong, but because the underlying EEG covariance structure had shifted in ways no static model could handle.
That specific failure — reliable in the lab, unreliable in the clinic — is why Synaptiq exists. The motor rehabilitation space has a hardware problem that the EEG community has been solving for decades, but the solution (Riemannian geometry + Euclidean alignment) hasn't made it cleanly into a production SDK form that a device OEM can actually integrate.
Synaptiq is bootstrapped, founded in 2024, based in Salt Lake City. Small team, focused scope: solve the signal quality problem for clinical BCI deployment and build it as a proper SDK with the documentation and regulatory process that device manufacturers need.
If you are building or deploying a rehabilitation BCI system and running into session-to-session reliability problems, reach out directly.

"Every person in motor rehabilitation deserves BCI technology that works reliably — not just in a controlled lab, but in a real clinic, on a real Wednesday afternoon when the electrodes have shifted."
